How do I invite buyers to a LockRoom data room?
Buyers are invited by email as members of buyer groups. Each group gets its own permission set, so competing bidders never see each other or each other's access levels. Add a buyer's email to a group and they receive an invite link to the room.
Step by step
- Create a buyer group for each bidder (for example, one group per PE firm or strategic).
- Set the group's permissions on folders and files before inviting anyone.
- Add buyer email addresses to the group. Each recipient gets an email invite.
- Buyers see only what their group is permitted to see. Groups are invisible to each other.
- Track each group's activity from the room's audit log.
